To form more favorable conditions for the transportation of transit cargo, relevant steps have been taken by the Coordinating Council on Transit Freight.  Thus, as a result of simplifying transit procedures and lowering cost of service fees for departures and arrivals of truck trailers directed from Azerbaijan to Aktau port of Kazakhstan, and Turkmenbashi port of Turkmenistan, transit costs were reduced approximately by 40 percent.

The shipping rate on the round trip for Baku-Aktau-Baku reduced by 20 percent and determined as 2100 USD. As a result, the cost of round trip for each truck trailer will be around 2600 USD.

Taken measures will increase transit attractiveness of Azerbaijan and revenues from transit cargo transportation.
